I hesitate to use the word “models” because what I really want, are regular ladies, just like you!

Want to be part of my upcoming book party / fashion show? Let me know! I’m looking for a handful of size small ladies (sorry about the size, but the garments are already made!) to walk the “runway” modeling items from my book, Chic & Simple Sewing. See some of the items that you might be wearing below.

It will be a fun night of food, cocktails, demos, book signing, trunk show, and of course, the fashion show. Here’s all the details:

Friday, July 10

The Urban Craft Center
2433 Main, Santa Monica, CA 90405

jump in the pool

There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing seamstresses have their way with my book patterns. I love the personalization and individuality that each creation has.

Have you made something from Chic & Simple Sewing? If so, join the flickr Pool and show us what you did! Here are some amazing examples that are in there already…

friday friends: mohop

I love Annie Mohaupt’s shoes. I have 3 pairs and I wear them all the time. And each time I do, I get flooded with compliments and the one standard question, “Where did you get those fantastic shoes?” Well, here they are: Mohop.

Not only are they gorgeous and comfortable (let’s face it ladies, that combo rarely occurs!) but they are eco friendly, animal friendly, and endlessly alterable. Did I mention that I love these shoes?

Don’t be fooled by the wood either. Some people are thinking, “is it comfortable to have that wood under your foot?” The answer: yes. They are really comfortable. Seriously.

I had my models wear them for some of the Spring 2009 outfits on my site, and there are shots of me wearing my favorite pair to my recent book release party. Go get yourself a pair. Oh, and even better, Annie’s offering $2 shipping anywhere. You read that right, $2 shipping. So now  you really have no excuse.
