Bollywood’s Bobby
Last week here in LA was the Indian Film Festival. As a lover of film, especially musicals, I’ve always been intrigued by Bollywood films. But I haven’t had many opportunities to see them. So when I saw that the festival closer was what the festival was calling a Bollywood classic, I had to take note. And was it amazing!
In all it’s 168 minutes, it was simply glorious. Made in the 1970’s, Bobby is not to be missed. The costumes are totally spectacular.
Here’s a clip of one of the best numbers from the film. It doesn’t have subtitles, but the song’s so great, who cares! You must watch long enough to see the female lead sing and dance. I really wish I could get my body to move like that. She’s amazing.
